“Last of the Right Whales:” A Movie Screening and Q&A
Monday, November 176:00—8:00 PMEvent Center (105)Abbot Public Library235 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA, 01945

The documentary "The Last of the Right Whales" tells the story of the North Atlantic right whale, one of Earth’s most critically endangered whale species. Right whales call the east coast of the United States their home, meaning they are ours to protect – and right now, they once again face extinction. With only around 380 Right whales left, too many of these gentle giants are dying from boat strikes and fishing gear entanglements. But new technology can give the species hope.
Join Environment Massachusetts Research and Policy Center to watch “The Last of the Right Whales,” to learn about right whales, the challenges they face, and what you can do to save them. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with Amy Warren, an Assistant Research Scientist with Kraus Marine Mammal Conservation Program at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life.
Environment Massachusetts Research & Policy Center is one of the state’s leading environmental nonprofits with one mission: to protect the natural world. They conduct research to break down leading environmental problems, educate the public and decision-makers who shape our nation’s future, and work to advance policies to guide our state onto a greener, better path. They envision a future that protects and restores our environment and that offers us all the opportunity to live healthier, more enriching lives.
