Saving our Shoreline: Building Resilience across Salem Sound Communities
Wednesday, January 196:45—8:15 PMMeeting RoomAbbot Public Library235 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA, 01945
Sometimes it seems that not much is happening to address climate change, but since 2017 when the State began its Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program, cities and towns in Massachusetts have identified climate hazards, assessed vulnerabilities, and written action plans to improve resilience to climate change. These action plans are now being implemented.
Barbara Warren, Salem Sound Coastwatch's Executive Director, has been working with Salem Sound communities to build coastal resilience. She will discuss three current projects that Salem Sound Coastwatch is working on with Marblehead, Salem, and Peabody. Barbara will include Manchester's Sawmill Brook tide gate removal, and Beverly's Water Street Pump Station study.
