Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. for a free one-hour lecture and Q&A to learn about how healthy sleep can protect against memory loss and cognitive decline.

Prioritizing good sleep can play an important role in maintaining brain health. Join Dr. Zsófia Zavecz, neuroscientist and sleep researcher, for an engaging lecture exploring how healthy sleep habits can help protect against cognitive decline. Learn about the latest research on the connection between sleep and dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, and how strong sleep routines may support brain resilience. You'll also get practical tips to improve your sleep and support long-term brain health.

A viewing of the online lecture will be held in the Event Center at Abbot Public Library, followed by a discussion session.

Dr. Zsófia Zavecz is a neuroscientist specializing in memory and sleep. Her research investigates how sleep supports memory and helps protect against cognitive decline, including in the context of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Zavecz earned her Ph.D. in Hungary and held postdoctoral positions at UC Berkeley and the University of Cambridge before becoming an assistant professor at the University of Surrey. Bridging fundamental and applied neuroscience, her work aims to translate research findings into practical solutions that enhance cognitive health.
