Geometry in Motion: Spirograph Doodling for Kids
Tuesday, June 93:00—4:00 PMThompson Makerspace (102)Abbot Public Library235 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA, 01945

Kids ages 8–12 will explore how gears and repeating patterns can create detailed geometric artwork using Spirograph drawing tools. By experimenting with different shapes, rotations, and colors, participants will discover how simple changes can produce dramatically different designs. Participants will also have the option to use digital tools to watch the same patterns transform on a computer, along with a demonstration showing how the design can help create a 3D object from the library’s 3D printer and laser cutter. The materials are used during the program so participants can freely experiment, follow their curiosity, and draw patterns ranging from simple spirals to intricate layered artwork.
Space is limited to 10 participants ages 8-12, and online registration is required. Please register below. This program is led by Dan Saulnier, Technical Resource Specialist at the library.
Funding for this program has been provided by the Abbot Public Library Foundation.
